The Moorings is a tried-and-true charter company. They've been in business for >50 years and they are very consistent. They run their business a bit differently than their largest competitor (DYC), in that it's less of a franchise feel. That means your experiences, level of service, and boat condition is a bit more predictable. They have far fewer options for boat manufacturers, locations, etc. in their focus to keep things a bit more conservative and consistent.
The Moorings catamarans (power and sail) are built by Robertson and Caine, sold a Leopard if purchased directly. They are amazing boats for a charter fleet. Very comfortable, reliable, and easy to sail. These are "high performance" sailing vessels, but we are talking about bareboat charter vacations. Most people are looking for comfort. You'll find catamarans from 37 to 58 feet available for rent.
Their monohulls are built buy Beneteau, one of the leading monohull builders. They have boats from 34 to 54 feet. They do have a few Jeanneau yachts but it seems those are phasing out.
The Moorings parent company also owns Sunsail and Footloose. All three share an office in Clearwater, FL.
The Moorings is world renowned for their amazing service and consistency. If they have a base in a destination you're looking to charter, you would be remiss to pass up The Moorings as an option.
