BVI was my first sailing experience, and I am glad that it was. If sailing, or bareboat sailing is new to you, BVI offers a great experience that is comparatively easy, and extremely rewarding. The sailing conditions in BVI tend to be very nice most of the year, and most people sail in a lap around the islands that offers reasonably short sails in deep water. There are many anchorages and bays full of mooring balls to tie up to. BVI boasts a great mix of secluded islands and quite bays, along with spots known for bars, restaurants, and night life. There are several places to get more fuel and water along the way, and if you are looking for a little bit longer sail, you can head out to Anegada (14 miles or so from Virgin Gorda). I've been twice, and think that BVI is just a great, lower stress, and beautiful place to sail.
